The farm is located about six miles southeast of the town of Greenwood, in Carroll County Mississippi. The farm can easily be reached by major highways. From the Greenwood Country Club on Highway 82 drive south on Highway 430 (known locally as Humphreys Highway) for approximately six miles, turning left on County Road 180.

     County Supervisors wish to bring County Road 180 (CR-180) under proper specifications which would make it eligible for state aid road funding. The goal of the county is to eventually pave CR-180 once it is eligible for state aid. One of the current projects under construction to bring it up to state specifications is the replacement of a wooden bridge that crosses Abotlapoda Creek. Replacing this wooden bridge with a modern concrete bridge is a valuable asset to the farm, especially during harvest time when heavy combines and tractor trailer loads of grain cross the creek.

The farm is part of the flat Yazoo Basin, geographically also named the Mississippi Delta, which, over a period of thousands of years, was formed by the Mississippi River and its tributaries. Due to its proximity to the start of the Mississippi hill country the water table is higher than most Delta farmland, helping to alleviate stress during periods of dry weather.

The photo above was taken on July 18, 2006. During this time Mississippi farmers were experiencing drought-like conditions. When the photo was taken the Farm only received around two inches of rain since May 1 while experiencing 90 to 100+ degree temperatures much earlier than usual. The above photo, taken from a non-irrigated field, shows how the natural high water table can not only sustain crops but actually let them thrive.
